That question came alive during the TED AI panel discussions on day 2 of the conference, where founders, CEOs, and futurists wrestled with what it means to design, lead, and govern in a world of “alien intelligence”, per Manoj Saxena definition.

Yesterday was Day 1 of TEDAI in San Francisco. “Are we bold enough?” is the core question of the conference, and from the 17 talks of that first day, I would say we are bold for sure. Here are a few highlights of day one.

When I was in France this summer and went to Monoprix (one of the local supermarkets), I was struck by the coffee section.

Walking through Paris, it’s impossible not to notice the rhythm of daily life centered around bakeries. What fascinates me most is not just the abundance, but the innovation: the way tradition coexists with creativity, and how bakeries thrive by adapting.

During my visit to Copenhagen, I explored CopenHill, a unique building that serves as a garbage incinerator while offering public benefits, including the highest climbing wall in Europe (85 meters) and an artificial ski slope, all set against a backdrop of a cafe perfect for enjoying the view.
